Cement is the nation's preferred construction material. Approximately 35 percent of the company's cement volume is sold in bags through distributors and retailers, and the remainder is sold in bulk primarily to ready-mix concrete operators, including industrial customers and construction companies. The company's ready-mix concrete customers range from big construction companies to individuals.
To meet strong domestic demand, in 2007 we undertook construction of a new kiln at the Broceni cement plant, which will expand its production capacity by 1.0 million tons per year. We expect to complete this expansion at the beginning of 2009.
